After the Storm

Before leaving for the summer, I felt I had to have one last dive in HK. There was a storm the night before, and the diving was quite different. Water was significantly cooler, and visibility was down to about 80cm. We performed a 30 minutes circle at 3 to 8 meters, navigating by compass entirely.
We saw very little fish, one cornet fish and some smaller ones, but not even close to 10 percent of the usual encounters. The starfish we encountered was huge, measuring about 40-50cm in diameter and being partially buried in the sand.

Because it was raining, rather cold, and we were heading for a single dive only, we actually wore the entire gear on the bikes. People looked rather funny, but the set-up worked great. Posted by Picasa
