Bamboo Snake

Hands down, the best place for snake spotting is my own front yard, right where we park our motorcycles. After various encounters with big snakes, tonight I observed a baby bamboo snake, or white-lipped pitviper. So I ran inside, grabbed my camera, and got two shots before the cute-heart disappeared in the bushes.

Sharkwater

I finally bought a copy of Sharkwater.
Unfortunately, I cannot say I liked it much. As a typical American documentary, it is as much about the persona of the presenter as the actual subject (similar to Michael Moor or Al Gore). Also, the movie fails to adequately address the worldwide scale of shark finning, and rather focuses on Cocos and the Galapagos. Finally, it is totally overhyped. While the press releases claimed that Rob Stewart spent years on the movie, it actually covers one single trip with the guys from Sea Shepherd. Still, the movie is worthwhile, at least for the images and raising awareness.
